Our History
The JCC has been an integral part of the Lehigh Valley Jewish community since its founding in 1918. Throughout our 100 year history, we have grown roots that reside in the loving and welcoming nature of our community. The JCC has become our “neighborhood,” a place where Jewish and secular values and traditions can be shared actively in a warm, comfortable, vibrant environment.

Our Mission
The Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley brings people together to build connections and enrich lives through Jewish values.
Community & Belonging (kehilla)
Strong communities are built when people feel seen, valued, and connected to one another. Rooted in the Jewish concept of kehilla (community), we foster a sense of belonging where individuals and families find shared purpose, mutual responsibility, and meaningful relationships.
Connection Across Generations (l'dor v'dor)
Communities are strongest when wisdom, energy, and experience flow across generations. This reflects the Jewish commitment to l’dor v’dor (from generation to generation), honoring both tradition and innovation through intergenerational connection.
Growth & Lifelong Enrichment (limmud)
We support personal and communal growth at every stage of life through learning, culture, wellness, and creativity. Inspired by the Jewish value of limmud (lifelong learning), we believe enrichment is an ongoing journey that deepens identity, skills, and purpose.
Welcoming (hachnasat orchim)
We strive to create an open, inclusive environment where everyone feels invited to participate and belong. Guided by the Jewish value of hachnasat orchim (welcoming guests), we embrace diversity of background, belief, and experience as a strength that enriches our entire community.
