Jewish Film Nights at Home
Until we can resume showing movies at the JCC, we want to provide you with some of the value we gain by coming together. Every four weeks we are holding a Zoom meeting to discuss a Jewish interest film. To receive email notices about what films will be discussed, links to the films, and how to gain entry to the Zoom meetings, you need only to sign up HERE.
Watch the films at your convenience and then join us for the discussion. Everyone is invited. We choose films that are readily available to stream online. Themes are varied: Drama, History, Comedy, Documentary, Contemporary.

JFN Film Discussion: Dolphin Boy 2011 | Documentary | Israel | 72 minutes Available to Stream at Israel Film Center Website for $5 Morad, a 17-year-old teenager living in an Arab neighborhood in Israel, had everything a teenager could want; he was socially popular, loved by his family, an athlete, and a good student. But after a cruel beating by his classmates, he becomes catatonic and withdraws from life. He could not speak or communicate. Unable to be helped by traditional therapies, as a last resort, his father took Morad to Dolphin Reef in Israel’s southern city Eilat for an alternative treatment with dolphins in the Red Sea. Watch the film at your convenience, then sign up to join us on Zoom for the discussion, Tuesday 4/22 at 7:30pm. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link. |

ChaiFlicks: Jewish Films Streaming Service - Free 7-Day Trial
ChaiFlicks is a Jewish film subscription streaming service offered by Menemsha Films. Menemsha is a film distributor from whom we have obtained many of the great films we have shown at the JCC. (…for which we pay hundreds of dollars per film.)
Menemsha regularly adds films to the ChaiFlicks library. The subscription costs only $6 per month during which you can watch as many films as you like. Currently, the first month is free and you can cancel at any time.
What is Jewish Film Nights at the J?
Jewish Film Nights at the J brings you thought-provoking, entertaining, and educational films for free. There will be one film shown on one night each month. Each film will have a brief introduction and opportunity to stay after for discussion. Themes are varied: Drama, History, Comedy, Documentary, Contemporary. Our committee scours the film universe to bring you the best available. All have a Jewish connection. We invite everyone in the community to enjoy these free nights at the JCC.
Thanks to a generous grant to the JCC from the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley and the support of our sponsors, all regular JFN films are free.
The Jewish Film Nights at the J (JFN) committee meets regularly to screen and select films. For more information or to get involved contact Dan Poresky at [email protected].
