JCC Members get access to a variety of weekly group exercise (GROUPx) classes. Our Groupx programming is designed to cover a range of exercises suitable for all ages and skill levels, as well as, encourage the development of community.

GROUPx CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Basic Hatha Yoga: Low intensity yoga that emphasizes mindful movement and relaxation (for all levels) Bikes & Bars: A combination of cardio and strength training, take one or both parts of class! Chair Yoga & Qigong: A comfortable and accessible yoga class for beginners and the independently mobile.
Core & More: A combination of pilates for the core as well as upper and lower body work. Cycling: cardio workout on indoor stationary bikes utilizing resistance and speed changes. Full Body Friday: Full body strength class utilizing various modalities of resistance training.
New Beginnings Yoga: A combination of hatha and Restorative Yoga practices. Pilates: Strengthen muscles with this low to no impact workout. Senior Strength: A low-impact, full body class focused on increasing strength and improving balance.
Silver Sneakers: Designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activities of daily living. Stretch & Tone: A combination of resistance bands, weights, and body weight for light resistance training, also including a series of stretching. Strength & Core: A 30-minute class to build muscle strength and improve balance with a exercises for the core.
Strength & Cycle: A two-part class consisting of 45 minutes of resistance training followed by 45 minutes of cycling. Come to one or both! Strong & Steady: (formerly Balance & Mobility): A full body class designed to improve balance while increasing strength. Zumba: An interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party that takes the "work" out of workout.

Fitness Philosophy:

Practice FUNctional Fitness. I am a strong believer that the body was made to MOVE!  Once you stop moving, it’s harder to get going again, so move every day! To borrow a quote from a world-class trainer I  had the privilege of learning from… “In fitness we make the easy things harder so that the hard things will be easy”.

I have a passion for all things Zumba. I started taking Zumba classes after my 100+ pound weight loss in 2007. My main goal is to make the participants comfortable with becoming a better version of themselves via Zumba classes.
