GROUPx

Here at the J, we offer our members access to a variety of group exercise (GROUPx) classes. Our GROUPx programming is designed to cover a range of exercises suitable for all ages and skill levels, as well as, encourage the development of community. Classes are offered every day of the week and at varying times in order to best meet your scheduling needs. End your day with a relaxing yoga class. If you're looking for something to get your heart pumping, check out our cycling class. Not sure which class is best for you? Meet Our GROUPx Instructors

Jenn Dietz

Education: Bloomsburg University, BA Psychology

Certifications:

  • AAAI Certified Personal Trainer
  • AFAA Certified Personal Trainer
  • ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor

 Fitness Philosophy:

Practice FUNctional Fitness. I am a strong believer that the body was made to MOVE!  Once you stop moving, it’s harder to get going again, so move every day! To borrow a quote from a world-class trainer I  had the privilege of learning from… “In fitness we make the easy things harder so that the hard things will be easy”.

Classes: Cycling, Silver Sneakers, Fit for Life, Core & More, Circuit

Fun Facts: I used to coach elementary Cross Country and Track & Field (but I really don’t like to run). I also love to cook & eat!

Sara Mercer

Certifications: Silver Sneakers Foundation, Yoga and Circuit programs. Also completed a 200-hour Ashtanga teacher training program.

Fitness Philosophy:

Through modified postures and sequences while incorporating breath and mindfulness, my goal is to help my students build strength as well as reduce stress, gain peace of mind and feel good about themselves and their bodies. It is my hope that all of my students leave the studio feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and stronger. While also enjoying a laugh or two. I am inspired by the dedication and hard work of my students and the fun of teaching class.

Fun FactI enjoy cooking and gardening. My husband and I take care of our dog and cat, spend time with good friends and like to travel -- hoping to someday return to Italy.

Jill Sabo

Fitness Philosophy:

I love the group fitness community. I believe being together to work out adds even more benefit than just the physical aspects.  I always strive to make your workout fun and successful. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you at the Fitness Center! We will have a great time working out together!

Classes: Pop Pilates - a fun choreographed fusion version of Pilates, Aerobics, Aqua and Silver Sneakers.

Fun Facts: I have been a Group Fitness Instructor for 4 years. I am also mom to an amazing 16-year-old young man and wife to an incredible husband! I teach Preschool when I am not at the gym and my newest hobby my husband introduced to me this year is Golf! I love it!

 Esther Salata

Fitness Philosophy:

I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals through a fun and energetic style of instructing. With each class, my goal is to get you to sweat and work in an inclusive environment. My classes are geared towards those who are intermediate to high level fitness enthusiasts. One quote to describe my fitness philosophy would be “To be healthy: eat right, walk right, and talk to yourself right”.

Andrew Yasenchak

Education:

Fitness Philosophy:

As a fitness professional, my philosophy is to train for quality over quantity. You can perform 1,000 repetitions of an exercise, but if you don’t perform them with quality technique, you will never see the results you desire. I find inspiration from seeing my clients achieve their goals and live happier, healthier lives. It is my hope to provide an active and healthy lifestyle and help fit the needs and abilities of every individual I come in contact with here at the JCC.
