JCC COVID-19 Updates
Last updated: March 27, 11:00am
We want to thank you for your continued support. As the COVID-19 crisis continues and we begin to learn more about the impact on our agency, we want to share some updates. Based on state guidance, the JCC will be unable to reopen on March 30 as we originally planned. Given the state of uncertainty regarding the current stay-in-place order and mandated closures, we do not currently have a timeline to resume operations.
Community is our middle name. We ask that you stand together with us through your continued support. Not only does our community need us, but we also need our community now more than ever. We long to be together, and we are excited to turn our attention toward creating our new “JCC At Home” online community. In the past two weeks, we have seen hundreds of community members participate in online programs like Virtual Shabbat, Yiddish Club, fitness and recreation activities, cooking, and story time. We have more plans for the coming weeks to keep our members engaged and provide valuable services. Below you will find a complete list of activities as well as videos.

We will continue to work with our local and national partners to actively assess the future situation and adjust our services accordingly. We ask for your patience and encourage you to check for ongoing updates via e-mail, social media and our website.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our staff will be available remotely as much as is possible.
We are still there for the community, even when we are closed.
We have always said that the JCC is “more than just a building.” Our goal is to serve the community to best of our ability even when we are closed. During this time, here is what we will be providing:
MEMBERSHIP AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
We are committed to providing our community with as much help as we can in this challenging time. The JCC is assembling a Volunteer Task Force to aid our community members with making phone calls, running errands, delivering meals and other services they may need. If you are interested in helping provide critical services, please fill out the form below.
VOLUNTEER SIGN UP
If you are in need of these critical services or know of someone who might, please contact Jewish Family Service at (610) 821-8722 or [email protected].
Yiddish Club will be holding regular Zoom call meetings every Tuesday at 12:30pm. Upcoming Yiddish Club Meetings: March 31, April 7, April 14, April 28, May 5
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
The Early Childhood department is dedicated in continuing to prepare activities and information for parents and their children during this time. Teachers will be in touch with their classes on a daily basis via Brightwheel, and also through private Facebook groups. Please check your e-mail for more information or to get connected.
Thank you to those who joined us for our virtual Shabbat on March 27. We will be holding virtual Shabbat celebrations every Friday at 11:15am on our Facebook page.
FITNESS & RECREATION
Although our gym and fitness centers are closed, there are a few things you can do at home or outside that can be substituted on a short-term scale. Here is a list of daily exercises and recreation activities to help you stay active and healthy in this unique circumstance
