December 13, 2021:

We are writing to share an update to the JCC's Covid-19 policies. The JCC is instituting a universal vaccine requirement for JCC employees and anyone who operates JCC programs (such as contractors and volunteers). The few JCC employees who are not yet vaccinated must begin their vaccine regimen no later than January 15 to remain employed by the JCC. As we have spent many months working to support and educate our employees about the benefits and safety of vaccination, we are hopeful that all of our employees will use this opportunity to become vaccinated and protect the health and safety of themselves and those around them.

As a Jewish organization guided by Jewish values such as shmirat haguf (caring for your body) and pikuach nefesh (saving a life), we believe that this is the right decision to safeguard the health and safety of our children, parents, employees and the community at large.

We thank you for your support of the JCC and our employees.

Effective June 1, 2021:

We will expand capacity in our swimming pool. During open swim times, some lanes may be reserved for 60-minute time blocks, and some for 30-minute time blocks. With less concern about the total number of people passing through the pool area, this will allow us to accommodate more total swimmers, as not all swimmers need a full hour. Click here to make a reservation

  • Swimmers are welcome to share lanes at their option. If you wish to share a lane with a friend or family member, only one person needs to reserve the lane, and both can swim in it.

We will no longer take reservations for the fitness center. Based on the fitness center's legal capacity, we do not anticipate nearing that number based on historical usage trends.

  • The fitness center will now be open the same hours as the JCC building (other than 12-1pm M-F), although it will only be staffed during the currently staffed hours (M-Th 8am-12pm, 3:30-7:30pm; F 8am-12pm, 3:30-5:30pm; Sa-Su 9am-2pm).
  • Outside of the fitness center's staffed hours, the Welcome Desk attendant will remotely monitor the space via our security camera system, but members are responsible for wiping down machines and equipment after use. Failure to wipe machines after use is a violation of our membership protocols.
  • Members who are more comfortable using the fitness center with an attendant present to monitor activities and conduct cleaning are encouraged to utilize the facility during the staffed hours.
  • Face masks continue to be required in the fitness center at all times, regardless of the number of people in the room or any other factors. Failure to wear a proper mask covering the mouth and nose after use is a violation of our membership protocols.

We will begin the process of reopening our health club amenities.

  • We anticipate that the men's and women's saunas and steam rooms will reopen during the day on Tuesday, June 1.
  • We are working to reopen the men's whirlpool as quickly as possible.

Already in effect as of May 17, 2021:

We will no longer conduct temperature screenings when entering the JCC building or a JCC program.

  • All persons are encouraged to screen themselves for symptoms daily, including temperature, and may not enter the JCC facility if they have any Covid-related symptoms.
  • Access will be restored to the ECE Washington St. back door for ECE parents during child care hours (M-F 8am-5:30pm).

Face masks are no longer required indoors and outdoors for fully vaccinated individuals.

  • This excludes child care areas, in which face masks continue to be required for all individuals.
  • The JCC reserves the right to request proof of vaccination for any individual on its property, and to require to the use of face masks until such proof can be supplied.

What about other policies?
  • Please review the JCC's Covid-19 Health & Safety Plan for complete details on other policies.
