Jeanette Eichenwald, Event Moderator

Jeanette Eichenwald has been a community leader as an educator, administrator, communicator, manager and organizer. She has given generously of herself to the Jewish Day School, the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley, the United Jewish Appeal, Hadassah, local synagogues, the Allentown School Board and Allentown City Council among other causes. Professionally, she and her husband founded the premier high-tech company in the Lehigh Valley. The company was sold in 2006. While she led the Jewish Federation as its president and later executive director, she spearheaded a partnership with Muhlenberg College to present a Youth and Prejudice Conference workshop for local schools. Her commitment to education and to the strengthening of interfaith understanding led to the creation of the Jeanette Eichenwald Interfaith Award at Muhlenberg College presented annually to a student who demonstrates commitment to interfaith understanding.

Jeanette was the most sought-after speaker by the United Jewish Appeal and spoke in countless communities raising millions of dollars for Israel. In recent years, Jeanette turned her attention to civic organizations and served for two terms on the Allentown School Board. She also completed two terms as an Allentown Councilwoman, receiving the highest vote tally in each election. Jeanette has received the B’nai Brith Humanitarian Award, the Rotary Club Service Above Self Award, the Wallenberg Tribute from Muhlenberg College, the Central Catholic Freedom Medal, the Schiff Award for prejudice Reduction, the George Feldman Leadership Award, the Athena Award from the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, honoring a businesswoman who demonstrate commitment to service to the community and recently the Girl Scouts Take the Lead Award. Jeanette is married to Eduardo and they are the parents of three children who attended the Jewish Day School and grandparents of eight.
