Building Hours:The JSeals Swim Team is more than just a swim team—it’s a community where everyone has a chance to shine. Our team brings together swimmers of all abilities who share a love of the water, a desire to improve, and most importantly a commitment to support one another.
As members of the Mid-Atlantic JCC Swim League, our JSeals have the exciting opportunity to compete against teams from other JCCs throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This season, our swimmers will participate in at least four league swim meets, along with additional local meets throughout the year. These meets give our athletes the chance to challenge themselves, celebrate their progress, and experience the excitement of competitive swimming. We are so lucky to have Miriam Zager returning as our coach this season. Miriam brings tremendous knowledge, enthusiasm, and heart to our team. She is not only an outstanding swim coach, but someone who cares deeply about our swimmers and our Jewish community. In honor of her dedication to the team, a friend of Miriam’s and member of the community has graciously donated upgraded swim caps for this season. We are so grateful for this thoughtful gift and for everything Miriam brings to the team.
New this year, we are excited to introduce a pre-swim team program designed to give younger swimmers a wonderful introduction to what it means to be part of a competitive team. These kids will be introduced to the latest competitive swimming techniques and skills as early as possible in order to help them build confidence and prepare for becoming a JSeal. Swimmers will work on competitive strokes, starts, turns, and more in a fun and encouraging environment.
Being a JSeal is about much more than what happens on the blocks. Team spirit and camaraderie are at the heart of our program. Throughout the season, we hold special team events that allow our swimmers to build friendships, get to know their teammates outside the pool, and experience what it truly means to be part of a team. There is nothing better than having your teammates cheering from the side of the pool, encouraging you through a tough race, celebrating a personal best, or simply reminding you that you are never swimming alone.
Whether a swimmer wins a race, achieves a personal best, learns a new stroke, cheers loudly for a teammate, or simply gives their best effort at practice, every accomplishment matters. That is what makes the JSeals Swim Team so special. We celebrate the individual while building a strong team. We encourage our swimmers to work hard, have fun, support each other, and take pride in being part of something bigger than themselves.
