JCC Acknowledges the Year’s Triumphs During Annual Meeting

On Thursday, June 4, 2026, the Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley held its annual membership meeting in the Kline Auditorium. The current directors elected Sandi Fine, Gia Jones, Amber Lopez, Alex Mishkin, Lyell Scherline, Stephanie Smartschan and Jill Stutz to serve new three-year terms. Additionally, Andy Kahn and Rabbi Moshe Kurtz were appointed by the president to serve 1-year terms. Directors completing their service to the JCC were Sara Martinez, Pat Rhodes, Jesse Saborsky, and Ali Visram.

Remarks were offered by Eric Lightman (executive director) and Matt Unger (incoming president), and the JCC marketing staff presented a year-in-review slideshow with a snapshot of all the many activities that have taken place at the JCC over the course of the year. The annual meeting also served as an opportunity to recognize the many dedicated staff that operate the JCC and its many daily programs. Two staff members received awards for reaching service milestones: Rachel Pollitt (10 years) and Brenda Nagle (5 years).

The annual meeting with the JCC’s first community event to showcase two exciting new facility improvements. The first is the renovation of the JCC’s main lobby restrooms including the creation of a new ADA-compliant, gender-inclusive Family Restroom. The JCC thanks Wendy and Ross Born for their tremendous philanthropic support to make this project a reality. The second improvement is the creation of an additional outdoor children’s play area to serve the JCC’s growing early childhood, afterschool and summer camp programs. We thank our many supporters for their continued dedication to the JCC and look forward to another busy year ahead!
