Building Hours:If it is a Monday at the JCC there is a good chance you’ll catch our Friendship Circle group gathering for a couple of hours enjoying activities, presentations, and lunch together. In an effort to open up the circle to relationships beyond our meeting group, Beth Kushnick, JCC Adult Coordinator, has implemented a new program called Better Together™.
Better Together™ is a program that seeks to create meaningful intergenerational programming. It helps alleviate the loneliness that is often characteristic of the lives of seniors, bringing stimulation and social interaction to their lives. JDS students in 4th-7th grade are paired with a 25 Friendship Circle member to begin regular correspondence. Students and seniors will develop relationships and make connections and develop a sense of deep fulfillment.
The theme of this academic year is "Be Happy." And happy they will be as they build new relationships and learn about one another.
