Tuesday Talks - Author Annelise Orleck: Tuesday, June 16 at 1:30pm ET/12:30pm CT on YouTube Live Annelise Orleck teaches History, Jewish Studies and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Dartmouth College. She is the author of five books and co-editor of two. Two touch directly on Jewish topics - her first book Common Sense and a Little Fire: Women and Working Class Politics in the United States (1995, second edition 2017). It is a collective biography of four Jewish immigrant women labor and community organizers. Her second book, Soviet Jewish Americans was a study of the mass emigration of Soviet Jews to the U.S. from 1972 to the turn of the 21st century. In this talk she will be drawing on her most recent book: We Are All Fast Food Workers Now: The Global Uprising Against Poverty Wages (2018_) She is also the author of Storming Caesars' Palace; How Black Mothers Fought Their Own War on Poverty (2005) and Rethinking American Women's Activism (2014).
